Financial Assistance Policy

SDS believes that any child who wants to be on the swim team should have that opportunity. To that end, SDS has financial assistance for families that need help with the cost of swimming. However, SDS cannot guarantee that every eligible family that applies for assistance will receive it. It is the goal of SDS to meet every request when possible, but there are a limited amount of funds available that can vary from season to season.

 Assistance can be given in the form of reduced monthly dues. Each family is responsible for paying its swimmer’s USA card at registration. This indicates the family’s commitment to participate for the season. IN Swimming does offer a reduced card fee of $5 for each swimmer that qualifies for free or reduced school lunches. Additional costs such as suits, goggles, t-shirts, and meet entry fees and related expenses are the responsibility of the swimmer’s family and will not be considered for assistance.

 Families that receive financial assistance from SDS are required to fully participate in all fundraisers. Non-participation in fundraisers will end the financial assistance.

 Financial assistance status will be kept confidential.
