Swimmer Behavior Policy

Swimming for SDS is a privilege for all members. Swimmers are expected to behave in a manner that is courteous to all fellow team members, coaches, and swimming officials. Additionally, all swimmers are to behave in a manner that is safe for themselves as well as all other team members and coaches. Swimmers will not harass other members or coaches in any manner.

When swimmers arrive prior to the beginning of practice, they are expected to sit in the stands and should not run around in the stands or in the locker room nor should they be on deck until the coach calls their group down to the pool deck. See the parent behavior policy regarding early dropoff. The same behavior is required when waiting to be picked up after practice has concluded for that swimmer.

If a swimmer does not behave in an appropriate manner the coaches or board members can do the following as seen appropriate: remove the swimmer from practice, suspend the swimmer for a determined amount of time from practice and/or meets, or remove the swimmer from the team.
