USA Swimming Card Policy

SDS requires all team members to have a USA swimmer card. The registration form must be completed by a parent or guardian and returned to the team’s treasurer along with the required payment. Parents may not obtain the card on their own. IN Swimming will not allow members of a team to process their own cards in order for IN Swim teams to keep track of registrations and for insurance and liability purposes.

Without a USA Swimming card, swimmers will not be allowed to practice. There is a two week grace period for receipt of a new card for swimmers who are new to the team and USA Swimming.

Families that transfer from another USA swim team into SDS are responsible to filling out the necessary transfer paperwork within a two week period of transferring to SDS. This paperwork must be turned into the team treasurer along with any transfer fees imposed by IN Swimming. Pursuant to USA Swimming rules, any swimmer transferring into SDS will swim as unattached for a period of 120 days from their last USA swim meet that they swam as an attached member of their last team.
